Blog: What Do YOU Want to See?

Posted by Michael Hogan

Hey there blog readers. It has been about... Oh... four and a half forevers since I last posted, so first off I apologize for that. I've been busy and I haven't had any great ideas for blog posts. So, that being said, I was wondering what everyone wants to see. I'm not going to do this in the form of a poll or anything like that. Just comment in what you want to see. Maybe you want to know some painting recipes or unit tactics or even the latest compilation of rumors for the new codex.

So again, just drop in the comments what you want to see and I'll try to get a post out there soon regarding some popular topics.

aaa honestly I would like to see an Codex:Daemonhunters army with allies. For Combos who knows there could be hidden cheese in allying Blood Angles or Space Wolves in a daemonhunter list

One issue is that Daemonhunters may only take standard Space Marine units when they are the parent list. You can have a Blood Angel list while adding in Grey Knight allies. I'll probably get to postin that sooner or later as I've already have one done for Space Wolves.

Do you paint Michael? if you do i would like to see some units of the grey knights painted and explained on how to use em and what they are good at etc.

Maybe some more battlereports. Keep up the good job!

Okay. I do attempt to paint, though I'm not very good at it. I'll do a post soon showing a couple of my models and small paint recipe on how I painted them and from there try to pick one that looks the best and do a guide on how to paint that one. When I do get to it, I'll try to do step-by-step pictures and go over what size brushes I'm using, etc.

I'd like to see some ally combinations using GK, especially in cases where you can use the allied HQ to boost your own squads. Pedro Kantor can be useful, and Ragnar Blackmane is insane for the points. str 7 I5 2-4 attacks on the charge O.o Also a look at choosing to reserve your entire army instead of castling vs tough opponents would be good.

The problem with using Space Marine parent lists is that the most you would really want to include is one squad of Grey Knight Terminators. And while that does make sense fluff-wise and can work out in game, it isn't really a suitable Grey Knight force. You can add a lot more Grey Knights in, but you are giving up points that can be spent on things that would be of an advantage to you. In the end, you might just want to stick with playing normal Space Marines. I will try to cover all of that at some point.

You can come off of reserves and try to castle, but frequently you would reserve against alpha-striking shooting armies. Against them, you might want to try to meet them head on and rush at them because coming a little at a time, you might be easy pickings for your opponent. I will try to do a guide on how to go against Imperial Guard/Razorback spam alpha-strikish lists.

Codex: Daemons is a pretty cool codex I mused at playing. They have some ridiculously point costed HQs and they have some odd rules, but definitely cool. Then again, the only talk about Daemons here is killing them!
